Our purpose shall be to take action to bring women into full participation in the mainstream of American Society. This purpose includes, but is not limited to, equal rights and responsibilities in all aspects of citizenship, public service, employment, education and family life, and it includes freedom from discrimination because of marital status or motherhood.

IOWA NOW'S JUDICIAL BYPASS FUND

Since January 01, 2004, Iowa NOW has funded a dozen abortions, at clinics in Des Moines and Iowa City, for young women who have successfully negotiated the "judicial bypass" exception to Iowa's Parental Notification law.  The State of Iowa is obligated to pay for the legal process but if the minor is successful, she must then find a way to pay for the procedure herself...Iowa NOW's fund was established for this purpose. 

We have been able to assist with the cost of the procedures so far from our operating
funds, but that well is running dry.  It's time to do some serious fundraising for the Judicial Bypass Fund.  Please send your donation to:

All NOW activists are encouraged to have a voice in Congress and the Iowa Legislature.
